Clothing Swap
This month’s Conscious Caregiving Offering is Hosted by @raisingancestors x @swapinthepark
How it Works:
Location: There is a clothing rack located inside of Kapwa Kultural Center next to the front door starting 12/11 until mind-January 2026 that is free and open to the public during business hours. See Holiday business hours here.
Take what you need: Please be mindful of how many items you select to take home; we want to ensure there is enough for the entire community.
Donations: Accepting clean, gently used clothing, coats and hangers. Due to staffing we are accepting only during Donation Drop Off Windows. Current Donation Drop Off Window: Friday 12/19 at 3-8pm (encouraged to bring during our parol event).
Thoughtfully curated: Please help keep the area tidy; if you see an item on the ground, hang it up. The clothing rack will be monitored on a regular basis to ensure it remains stocked. Remaining items will be donated to a local organization.
While you’re here: Interact with our food pantry (give or get), check out our local vendors or purchase a boba!

Healing, Connection, and Kapwa: A Gathering for Filipino Mental Health
Healing, Connection, and Kapwa: A Gathering for Filipino Mental Health
When: Friday 11/21 at 5:30-7:30pm
Who: All generations welcome
Cost: Free; Suggested Donation $10
This event is all about healing, for ourselves, our inner child, and our community.
We’re creating space to talk openly about Filipino mental health and intergenerational trauma, and to highlight the local orgs that specialize in Filipino-centered care right here in the Bay Area.
Many of us grew up carrying silence, shame, or stories that were never talked about. This event is about unlearning that together.
Join us and our partner organizations including Therapinxy Bay Area, FMHI San Mateo, and Kapwa Kultural Center for a day of music, reflection, and community care.
What to Expect:
-A mental health discussion with local Filipino therapists and advocates
-A “Letters to My Younger Self” reflection wall and affirmation space
-A DJ set by Zack Armada to hold the energy between conversations
-A live performance by KAT, a Filipino American singer and mental health advocate featured in The Slants Foundation’s Asian PaCIVICS program
-Plus a community resource fair to connect you with orgs offering culturally rooted mental health support
Let’s gather, listen, and heal for ourselves and the generations before and after us.

Photovoice exhibit: BIPOC Youth-Led Activism Towards Healing Nature Spaces
Photovoice exhibit: BIPOC Youth-Led Activism Towards Healing Nature Spaces
Join the Hood 2 Woods Photovoice research team and participants as we share the findings of our health equity research study. Support and learn from BIPOC students at SF State, who aim to make healing in nature more possible for youth of color using photos and stories. We invite you to share your feedback on how our work can impact policies."
This photovoice exhibit reflects the images and narratives captured by transitional-age youth (18-26) residing in the San Francisco Bay Area who identify as Black, Latinx, Pilipino, and/or Pacific Islander participating in a research project entitled “Examining Anti-Racist Healing in Nature to Protect Telomeres of Transitional Age BIPOC for Health Equity,” also known as “Hood 2 Woods.” Participants were trained in Photovoice and the SHOWeD methodologies for reflecting on experiences in nature in order to answer these research questions: a) What does healing in nature mean to you? b) How can green spaces be more welcoming? and c) What do green spaces in anti-racist park systems look like? These photos document strengths, challenges, hopes, and fears, and were followed by reflection pieces by the students and rich discussions as a cohort.
