Youth Poetry Night for Mental Health - Daly City

In partnership with Daly City Public Library Associates (DCPLA), we created space for poetry, vulnerability, and everything in between all in support of mental health.

As April came to a close with National Poetry Month and we enter Mental Health Awareness Month this May, the timing felt right. Poetry reminded us that sometimes, the things we struggle to say out loud can find their way through a poem.

This was the first event at KKC hosted by youth, for youth. Thank you to Max Espinola, Youth Poet Laureate of Daly City, and Victoria Magbilang, the Executive Director of DCPLA, for helping make the poetry event at KKC happen!

KKC was so touched to see the space filled with support and truth. We were really impacted by all of the poetry and power the youth shared with us last Friday.
