New Discussions on Filipino American Cultural Identity and Mental Health

In this talk, Edwin Carlos, PhD will discuss his research on Filipinx American identity and mental health. He will discuss current understandings of Filipinx American identity and mental health as it relates to colonial mentality. Then, he will share his findings from his dissertation research that expand on the relationship between colonial mentality and mental health.

Finally, he will provide space to discuss the application of these results to therapeutic practice, ethnic studies education, and community engaged work.
