For Filipinos, the parol is more than a lantern — it’s a symbol of hope, home, and togetherness. Making parols in community helps us honor tradition, brighten our shared space, and pass this meaningful practice on to the next generation.
Each session will be hosted by a KKC team member who will guide you step-by-step in making your own parol and customizing it with your unique style. Whether you grew up making parols or this will be your first time, all ages and skill levels are welcome. Please RSVP below.
This week’s session is hosted by Krizia. Krizia Cruz is a writer and poet who spends her days behind the scenes telling stories on socials and her nights writing and reflecting. This Parol night is her way of slowing us down before the holidays.
This workshop is sponsored by North East Medical Services. (NEMS) is a nonprofit community health center serving the San Francisco Bay Area, offering culturally responsive, affordable medical, dental, behavioral health and social services to underserved individuals and families across 32 clinic locations.
