Join Us for Parol Lantern Crafternoons at KKC!

UPDATED TIME: 5:00-7:30pm

This holiday season, we’re inviting the community to gather at KKC for Parol Lantern Crafternoons — three cozy, creative Fridays where we’ll make parols together, enjoy boba, snacks, and celebrate the joy of the Filipino holiday spirit.

🎄 Free to join
🎨 All materials provided
🍿 Snacks + light bites included
💛 Family-friendly, community-centered, open to all

For Filipinos, the parol is more than a lantern — it’s a symbol of hope, home, and togetherness. Making parols in community helps us honor tradition, brighten our shared space, and pass this meaningful practice on to the next generation.

Each session will be hosted by a KKC team member who will guide you step-by-step in making your own parol and customizing it with your unique style. Whether you grew up making parols or this will be your first time, all ages and skill levels are welcome. Please RSVP below.

This week’s session is hosted by Adrienne Hidalgo Esguerra. Adrienne is a mama of 5 and oversees the events at programming at KKC. She longs to spend more time being a crafty crafter-ton, but the holidaze can get hectic with all the things. This workshop will be an opportunity to slow down, gather, make something cool with some cool people. Tunes by DJ Mike Eazy!

We have shifted the hours for this event to start a bit later (5:00-7:30pm) to accommodate individuals and families who are slowly transitioning into the holiday schedule. Café closes at 8:00pm.

This workshop is sponsored by North East Medical Services. (NEMS) is a nonprofit community health center serving the San Francisco Bay Area, offering culturally responsive, affordable medical, dental, behavioral health and social services to underserved individuals and families across 32 clinic locations.
