Monthly Legal Aid

Office Hours

Provided by legal aid society of san mateo county

It is no secret that we are living in challenging times. The need for legal support and guidance within our trusted networks is becoming increasingly more important.

Kapwa Kultural Center is collaborating with Legal Aid Society of San Mateo to provide free office hours at the Café once a month from 3-5pm on Tuesdays 9/23, 10/28, 11/18 and 12/16.

What to Expect:

Our office hours are intended to provide a low stakes way to meet a legal aid attorney, and ask about our services and community outreach offerings. If you require full scope legal representation, we would be happy to chat with you on how to contact our office to preserve your confidentiality.

No appointment necessary; people are seen on a drop in, first come first served basis.

This is a safe and inclusive space. All are welcome.

Scope of Services:

We serve San Mateo County residents in the following legal areas:

Health care access, housing, public benefits, special education services, domestic violation, immigration, and elder abuses.

We are unable to assist with traffic tickets or criminal cases (including DUIs). If you need legal assistance in a criminal case or a case outside our practice, we can provide information on how to contact the San Mateo Bar Assocation Private Defender's Office and the San Mateo County lawyer referral services.

Meet the Attorney:

Camille Nguyen was a part of UC Irvine Law’s fifth graduating class, where she was a student leader in its Public Interest Law Fund, SSI clinic, and Asian Pacific American Law School Association. Prior to coming to Legal Aid, Camille worked at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, where she represented clients in locked psychiatric facilities, and clients who needed access to mental health services. Camille joined Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County in 2020, and expanded her practice to healthcare consumer law, where she is passionate about advocating for affordable and equitable access to healthcare for hard to reach communities.
