Healing, Connection, and Kapwa: A Gathering for Filipino Mental Health
When: Friday 11/21 at 5:30-7:30pm
Who: All generations welcome
Cost: Free; Suggested Donation $10
This event is all about healing, for ourselves, our inner child, and our community.
We’re creating space to talk openly about Filipino mental health and intergenerational trauma, and to highlight the local orgs that specialize in Filipino-centered care right here in the Bay Area.
Many of us grew up carrying silence, shame, or stories that were never talked about. This event is about unlearning that together.
Join us and our partner organizations including Therapinxy Bay Area, FMHI San Mateo, and Kapwa Kultural Center for a day of music, reflection, and community care.
What to Expect:
-A mental health discussion with local Filipino therapists and advocates
-A “Letters to My Younger Self” reflection wall and affirmation space
-A DJ set by z33zus to hold the energy between conversations
-A live performance by KAT, a Filipino American singer and mental health advocate featured in The Slants Foundation’s Asian PaCIVICS program
-Plus a community resource fair to connect you with orgs offering culturally rooted mental health support
Let’s gather, listen, and heal for ourselves and the generations before and after us.
