This October, as we celebrate Kapwa Cultural Center’s first anniversary and Filipino American History Month, we are rebuilding our Community Altar — a space to honor our ancestors, loved ones, and those who have come before us.
In Filipino tradition, remembering our ancestors is an act of love and connection. We build altars to keep their stories alive, to honor their sacrifices, and to recognize that everything we are today is rooted in those who paved the way. These spaces remind us that healing and growth are collective — that our strength comes from those whose memories continue to guide us.
We invite our KKC community to bring offerings to add to the altar — photos, candles, flowers, letters, or small items that represent someone you’d like to honor. Each offering becomes part of our shared story, a living expression of kapwa — our deep sense of interconnectedness.
📅 When: Building Kick-Off Wednesday, 10/22 1-5pm, We will be accepting offerings until Friday, 10/31.
📍 Where: Kapwa Cultural Center & Café, Daly City

Let’s build this altar as one community — grounded in culture, care, and connection.
