What is Baybayin?
Baybayin was used to write Tagalog and other Philippine languages, including Ilocano, Pangasinan, and Bisaya, from before Spanish colonization through at least the 18th century. In this workshop, Francis Garcia will walk you through the basics of Baybayin so that you can write your name and create an art piece.
Francis Garcia is a Filipino American artist with a mission to educate and bring awareness to Filipino culture in the Bay Area through art and media. He is the creator of Baybayin Flash Cards, available to purchase online or at KKC!
