Two Thicc Asians: Where Identity Meets Creativity
Kapwa Kultural Center is excited to feature Two Thicc Asians, a creative brand founded by queer Asian American best friends Karen Chin (she/they) and Christine Yang (she/they). Together, they craft stickers, prints of original artwork, fabric home goods, and fabric accessories that reflect their lived experiences and identities.
Art as a Political and Personal Practice
Their work explores themes of body acceptance, queer and Asian identities, social justice, and mental health, creating art that does more than decorate—it sparks deep connections.
“Our products send strong messages about social (in)justice, identity, and culture. We love having meaningful conversations with people through our art.”
The process of curating their pieces—and the finish products themselves—holds space for cultural and human complexity. Sometimes their work is funny, sometimes “too poignant,” but always authentic. That authenticity is what draws people in, building community with those who recognize themselves in the art.
“It’s not always pretty and sweet. Instead, it’s angry, raw, sad, packed with dark humor, gentle, radically accepting, reclaiming. Some people might find us too ‘spicy’ and too poignant, like our foods—but this is exactly how we find our people and community.”
“We also love when people pass by and suddenly their eyes sparkle because they see a part of themselves in our art!”
Kapwa Kultural Center is happy to serve Two Thicc Asians’ products. Their work embodies Kapwa’s mission of celebrating shared humanity while honoring the diverse, layered experiences of BIPOC communities.

At Kapwa Kultural Center, we recognize that community thrives when we support one another—not just in words, but through intentional collaboration and shared space. Our vendors are a vital part of that vision. They bring color, culture, and creativity into Kapwa’s everyday rhythm, offering goods and experiences that reflect our collective values.
Through this blog series, we’d like to dedicate time and space to celebrate the amazing vendors who bring their passion, products, and presence to our community. Whether they’re serving up handcrafted goods, apparel, books, or showcasing art that speaks to our shared roots, each vendor adds something meaningful to our collective story.
